ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

Established in 1996 and with a proven record of successful accomplishments and partnerships, the Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies is inspired by its vision of being the first choice in the nation for maternal and child health research, education and service for scholars, practitioners, policy-makers, advocates, families, and student.  The Center's mission is to integrate and apply the best in research, education, and service to promote and protect the health and well-being of mothers, babies, and families so that all babies are born healthy and remain as healthy as possible through their lives.  As our name implies, we focus our efforts on maternal and child health with a particular interest in women (current and future mothers) and children, specifically ages 0-5.  We are dedicated to determining the most effective strategies for reducing illness, disability and death among mothers, their infants and young children. The Center brings together experts in public health, health care, program design and evaluation, and maternal and child health from Florida universities and state, national and international programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Improvement Data Analyst serves as a professional individual contributor on one or more projects with expertise in conducting statistical research analyses, managing databases, and presenting results in multiple formats.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gathers, organizes, manages, and statistically analyzes and reports data to support the implementation of perinatal quality improvement projects to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

Conducts complex data manipulation using statistical analysis software (i.e., SAS, Power BI); produces data reports for multiple quality improvement projects; designs data collection tools and protocols.

Consults with FPQC staff and other subject matter experts on data results; provides data interpretation support to quality improvement project participants.

Perform day-to-day management of databases.

Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Health or a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master's degree in one of the same fields. Progressively responsible work experience may substitute for the college on a year for year basis.

FLSB1310 equivalency:
Four years of directly related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Six years of directly related experience can be substituted for a Master's degree.


PREFERRED:

Master's degree in public health preferred; prior experience working with large data sets; extensive knowledge of SAS, Excel, RedCAP, and Qualtrics; experience designing data reports and presenting data results

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
Four years of directly related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
Six years of directly related experience can be substituted for a Master's degree.
