POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Internal Medicine Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine is pleased to announce a faculty position available at the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) as a non-tenure track Infectious Diseases Clinician Educator. The infectious diseases clinician will provide inpatient infectious diseases consultation to adult patients, primarily at Tampa General Hospital or the Department of Health HIV clinic.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• CLINICAL: The candidate will see patients and provide quality clinical care, primarily at Tampa General Hospital in the TGH Cancer Institute for inpatient services/Outpatient clinic services.

• TEACHING: Bedside/Teaching of Medical Students, Fellows and Residents during ID Service Lines.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

For Associate or Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required.  To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.

PREFERRED:

Experience in an academic medical center with a proven track record in education and/or research. Experience in care of transplant ID and outpatient ID desirable. Experience with clinical research and antibiotic stewardship is desirable.
